Performances by CHS-ians
Friday, April 23, 2010 8:20 AM
• Anyone interested to perform for Prom can inform the committee and send in their audition video clips by the 9th of May, 2010. This would be your last chance to perform in secondary schools in front of all your schoolmates!

• We accept all types of performances as long as it is entertaining (includes dancing, singing, orchestra, group bands etc.)

• Performances by CHS-ians are on a voluntary basis (they volunteer to perform). Unfortunately, they would still have to pay because we cannot afford to provide free seating, but they are given priority to sit closer to the stage if they would like to.

• Anyone who would like to introduce performances out of school can also pass the details to the committee.

• The final decision of performers/performances on Prom Night will be made by the Committee.

• Committee members in charge of performances: Gan Joe Yin (5S6) Tan Swea Ching (5P3), and Wong Woon Khai (5S4).

Thank You!

FAQ On Prom Ticket Prices
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 6:09 AM
Hi everyone! (:

Today’s post is to clarify a few issues and clear up all misunderstandings regarding the price for the prom tickets. Well, we are going to be answering frequently asked questions one by one and if you are still not satisfied, you are welcomed to look for a committee member any time to seek further information (:

• Comparison in reality! Please take a good look!

Year 2009
Sri Kdu : The Gardens Hotel ~ RM 150
Damansara Jaya : Ritz-Carlton Hotel ~ RM 180
Taman Sea : Equatorial Hotel ~ RM 160
Chung Hwa : Renaissance Hotel ~ RM 140
We compare our prices to the most recent years because it’s invalid to compare to those of the ancient years. As you all know about this thing called ‘inflation’, hotel rates do NOT remain the same every year. In fact, it is always increasing and never decreasing. Hence, it’s reasonable if you would compare 2010 against 2009. We welcome you to check with any of the 5 star hotels.

• Why was it so much cheaper last year?
Last year’s Prom was held at Sunway Hotel. Fortunately for last year’s batch, they get a large amount of sponsor from students in their batch and support from 8 corporate companies. Besides, they have a big crowd of 400 prom attendees. Therefore, they managed to cover the expenses with sponsor and the expenses were divided to more people, thus, they quoted a cheaper ticket!

• I’m sure the Prom Committee gains the most out of this!
The committee does not gain any profit and NONE of the committee members earn any money through organizing the Prom. We have to pay for our own Prom tickets as well! In fact, we ourselves had to make phone calls and run errands to organize everything by ourselves. Who is there to pay for our bills and petrol fees?

• What is the RM150 inclusive of?
The RM150 you are paying gives you an entrance ticket to the CHS Prom at the Ballroom of Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, a 5 star hotel in the heart of the city center. Do note that Shangri-La is a 5 star hotel offering good food and top notch service with a lavish Grand Ballroom as well.
-Ballroom rental fee
-International Buffet dinner
-free flow beverages per head
-PA sound & lighting system
-MC and performances (outsource)
-Printing materials (tickets/posters)
-Souvenirs X300 pax
-Ballroom and table decoration
-Lucky draw gifts

• Is there ANY WAY at all to reduce the price of the prom tickets?
Of course there is! (: This is where YOU help play a part if you want cheaper tickets. We, the Prom Committee, strongly urge everyone to show their support for Prom by sponsoring us either in PRODUCTS or CASH forms. If you have any enquiries about sponsorship for Prom, please refer to Choo Jia Yee of 5s6 or Ng Chen Lynn of 5s7.

Another way the price can be reduced is if there is overwhelming response for this year’s Prom. Logically, the more people who attend Prom, the expenses can be divided to more people and thus, the less everyone would have to pay right? (: CHSians, why don’t you all lend a helping hand? Let us all gather together and have a wonderful night before we part away!

• Why come to CHS Promenade Ball 2010?

All in all, we have put a lot of effort into organizing this large scale event for all CHSians. It is a once in a lifetime event. Please do not hesitate to join us at Shangri-La hotel Grand Ballroom on the 20th of December 2010. It’s not only about the quality food, lavish ballroom and dressing up like princes and princesses. It’s about all of us having a great night together signifying a perfect ending to our high school life. We really want to make this prom a success, but only with YOUR PRESENCE! It would be a blast for all CHSians of 2010!!!

THANK YOU

P/S: We are not allowed to reveal the hotel rate due to "RATE CONFIDENTIALITY" stated in the hotel's proposal.
"All rates are not to be posted through any web sites and should not be disclosed, directly or
indirectly, unless explicit written approval is given by the Hotel."
